 Entry
1. Entry into the competition signifies acceptance of these terms and conditions.
2. Aspect Education Limited (company number 04053877) is a private limited company registered in England
and Wales, with its registered office situated at 2nd Floor Warwick Building, Kensington Village, Avonmore
Road, London W14 8HQ. Kaplan International Colleges is a trading name of Aspect Education Limited.
3. Aspect Education Limited reserves the right to alter, amend or cancel the competition at any time in its total
discretion or if due to circumstances beyond its control.
 Competition
1. The competition is open to French, Swiss and Belgian citizens only. Only one competition entry may be made
by each person.
2. To take part in the competition you must be aged 18 or over and have access to the internet.
3. The competitions are not open to employees, agents or contractors of Kaplan International Colleges and/or
any affiliate or subsidiary companies or their immediate families or any other person connected or involved
with the competitions.
4. The competition will run from [8am] Greenwich meantime (GMT) on 15 May 2013 and will close at [11pm]
GMT on 30 September 2013.
5. The competition will be composed of two different steps and voting from a jury will decide the finalists and
the winner.
a. Step 1 from 15 May 2013 [8am] Greenwich meantime (GMT) to 14 August 2013 [11pm] GMT will
consist in sharing a short article in French of at least 250 words, and a photo of the candidate with
symbols of Ireland.
i. The essay and photo will have to be shared using the form available on the Competition official page
http://www.kaplaninternational.com/l/landings/envoye-special-2013/fr/index.html.
ii. The essay (250 words minimum) will have to explain in French why the candidate should be picked as Kaplan’s
Envoyé Spécial in Ireland : why do they want to take an English course, what are their goals in studying English
(academic, professional, experience, travel…), and how Dublin inspires them to learn English.
iii. The photo will have to be original and show the candidate holding, showing or wearing symbols of Ireland.
iv. The 15 best candidates will be elected by the vote of a jury of 4 Kaplan staff members, and an extra vote will be
attributed to the article that obtains the best number of unique comments. The finalists will be notified by
email on 15 August 2013 after the votes are counted and will automatically enter Step 2.
b. Step 2 from 16 August 2013 [8am] (GMT) to 30 September 2013 [11pm] GMT will consist in sharing a
short article in English of at least 250 words, and a video.
i. The essay and video will have to be shared by sending an email to concours.kaplan@kaplan.com. The video will
have to be uploaded on the candidate’s Youtube account and the link shared with Kaplan in the application
email they will send to concours.kaplan@kaplan.com.
ii. The essay (250 words minimum) will have to answer in English the question “Why is it important to you to
learn English in Dublin ?”.
iii. The video will have to show the candidate’s family, friends or aquaintances convincing the Kaplan team why
the candidate is the best one for the competition and should win. Every person taking part in the video will
have to sign a consent form which will be providing upon notification of the candidate being finalist.
iv. The winner will be elected by the vote of a jury of 4 Kaplan staff members, and an extra vote will be attributed
to the essay obtaining the best number of “Facebook likes”. The winner will be notified by email on 1st
October 2013 after the votes are counted and will be announced on Kaplan’s Facebook page after they accept
their prize.
6. In the case of any suspiscion of fraud or irregularities in the social voting, Kaplan reserves the right to cancel
this vote and use only the Jury as part of the voting system.
7. This competition’s winner will be able follow a two-week Intensive English Course operated by Kaplan
International Colleges in Dublin including residencial accommodation.
8. No new candidates will be accepted after Step 1 and only candidates who will participate in Step 1 will be
accepted in Step 2, shall they are selected by the votes.
9. Candidates will not be able to amend their applications once they send them using the form during Step 1 or
via email during Step 2.
10. Participants must confirm their entry in Step 1 by filling in the form on the Competition dedicated page
available on the Kaplan website : http://www.kaplaninternational.com/l/landings/envoye-special-
2013/fr/index.html, including their name, date of birth and email address and must not forget to upload
their essay and photo using the form. In case of a technical issue, candidates will have to send an email to
concours.kaplan@kaplan.com.
11. All essays, videos and photos will be shared and published on the Kaplan Blog under the “Envoyé Spécial”
section where all content will be shared by the Kaplan team on behalf of the candidates and allow the social
votes. Kaplan reserves the right to make amends to the entries to correct the spelling and will eventually add
links on the articles but no further edits will be done.
12. Kaplan reserves the right to amend, publish and use for marketing purposes all the documents, videos,
photos shared by the candidates during the whole competition.
13. Entry into the competition is free but it is compulsory for the winner to have their own laptop computer,
camera and/or camcorder, to enable the winner to blog and share their experience regarding their English
course in Dublin.
14. The candidates, by accepting the Terms and Conditions, accept if they win the competition, to blog on a daily
basis during their trip to Dublin, and also to provide a few articles (text, video, photo) before and after, to
share their impressions, preparation and anything related to their English course at KIC Dublin. Kaplan will
post these articles on the Kaplan Blog as guest posts, unless the winner owns their own blog and wants to
use it.
15. The prize must be claimed on or before 15 October 2013. Prize unclaimed after this time will be void. The
English Course in KIC Dublin will only be available from 1 November 2013 to 30 March 2014 but the course
must be booked before 15 December 2013.
16. The prizes must be taken as stated and cannot be transferred. No alternative will be provided if for whatever
reason the winner is unable to travel.
17. The winner will be responsible for discharging any of their other costs and expenses related to participating
in the course and, in particular, will be responsible for booking their flight and providing their own trip
insurance. The winner agrees to attend classes during the full length of the English course Kaplan will book
for them.
18. The selection of the winners will be final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the selection.
In the event of a tie, the finalists will be chosen by the Chief Executive Officer of Kaplan International
Colleges drawing the name out of a hat.
 Liability
19. Kaplan International Colleges and any of its group companies, and their officers, directors, employees,
shareholders or agents of any kind, exclude all liability and responsibility for any amount or kind of loss or
damage that may result to entrants or any third party (including, without limitation, any direct, indirect,
punitive or consequential loss or damages, or any loss of income, profits, goodwill, data, contracts, use of
money, or loss or damages arising from or connected in any way to business interruption, and whether in
tort (including without limitation negligence), contract or otherwise) in connection with this competition in
any way or in connection with the use, inability to use or the results of use of any Kaplan website, any web
sites linked to the Kaplan website, or the material on such websites, including, but not limited to, loss or
damage due to viruses that may infect computer equipment, software, data, or other property on account of
access to, use of, or browsing the Kaplan site or downloading of any material from the Kaplan site or any
web sites linked to the Kaplan site.
 Data Protection and Publicity
20. Any personal data relating to an entrant will be used solely in accordance with applicable data protection
legislation and Kaplan International College’s privacy policy (available at
http://www.kaplaninternational.com/fr/terms/index.aspx).
21. Kaplan International Colleges reserve the right to publish the name and general location of the winner on its
website, in marketing materials and in the trade press. The winner may be required to take part in further
promotional activities and will be required to provide blog article about their English course with Kaplan.
 Jurisdiction
22. The competitions is governed by English law and subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
